Rides

Our family loves to go on rides!  It's just something we do, and it started way back when we were first married.  It's so fun to just hop in your car, and drive somewhere you've never been before!  The frequency of our rides have definately been scaled back, since gas prices have risen over the years, but we still manage to squeeze them in every once in a while.

We've seen some strange sightings on the past two rides we've taken.

We took these two pictures on one of our shorter rides.  These guys love to meander across a road close to our home.

On Tuesday, we drove to a place I've been dying to check out-- Madera Canyon.

We saw a group of wild Turkeys, crazy!  That's a first for me.

The strangest thing we saw was this:

A river bed full of water!  I think we're going to go on a family hike in Sabino Canyon on Monday.  I hear it's full of water as well.  We've had so much rain lately!  Fun stuff.

You now have a special connection with Nephi of old who wrote that Father Lehi "pitched his tent in a valley by the side of a river of water", implying that usually such "rivers" were dry and bereft of water. His family--and yours--were blessed by the "river of water".

The only place I've seen wild turkeys is in Zion National Park. One time about 10 of them blocked the road so no one could get through. The guy in the front car tried getting out of his car to scare them but he was the one who ended up getting scared. It was pretty funny (and bizarre). That canyon is beautiful. It's really making me yearn for warm weather!

Ask Aaron about the wild turkeys we had around our home in Copperas Cove, TX.

Ya know what's funny about the cows? When we first moved here Tayler saw a cow and turns to me and says, "Mom, do cows eat dirt?" Touche my friend, touche.

Our family loves to go for rides too! Unfortunately here in Atlanta there is nowhere as cool to drive too...
